Why Choose Us

A family-owned and operated business, Terry’s A/C & Heating was founded in 1982 and is dedicated to becoming your go-to HVAC professional. We can advise you on how to maintain the air conditioning and heating systems you have to get the longest life out of them, let you know when it is time to replace your HVAC system, and when it makes sense to repair the system to keep both your indoor climate and your utility bill on an even keel. We know what it feels like when the summer temperature reaches the 100s in the summer and even in the winter when it might be 70 degrees one day and 45 degrees five hours later. You can count us to help you navigate the options by educating you about how your AC and heating systems work, diagnosing and fixing any problems quickly at a fair price, arriving when we say we will, and most of all, treating you as we would treat our own family.

Knowledgeable Technical Skill

The air conditioning and heating business has changed rapidly over the years with new technology and procedures to encourage energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. That’s why we feel that continuing education and training over and behind what is required is so important. A typical AC Contractors license for the state of Texas requires 8 hours of training. As a Ruud Pro Partner™, we add more training each year to stay on top of the latest with the parts, equipment, technology, and air purification systems. Rob Terry and Kenny Langford are also NATE-certified technicians, a test-based credential that assesses competency in the installation and maintenance of HVAC equipment. The minimum certification requires passing a core test and one specialty subtest. Rob Terry has passed the core test and eight subtests. Kenny has passed the core test and two subtests.

Honesty & Courtesy

We aspire to treat you the way we would treat our own family. We arrive when we promise we will and we are not finished with the job until it is done right. How many AC and Heating contractors do you know that make sure that equipment warranties are always on file to save their customers headaches and hard-earned cash if equipment ever fails before it should? Our commitment to service is one reason people refer us over and over to their friends and family.

Prompt

Because our business is smaller, we handle all of the scheduling ourselves which means we can give accurate times as to when we will arrive. If we are delayed, we call so you are always informed about when help is on the way. Though we are not on call 24-hours as a general rule, we do make special accommodations and do what we can if your system breaks down and you have family members with medical needs or other special circumstances. Our phones are answered during regular business hours, so please leave a message if we can get you on the schedule for our work queue for the next day.

Fair

We offer a quick diagnosis and an honest price on a repair or new installation and we use easy-to-understand flat rate pricing for many of our repairs, which is based on national average book times. This pricing includes parts and labor all in one, with no extra charge if the call runs long. For new installations, we calculate the heat load your home or building has to make sure we are recommending the proper size system you need. We do not sell you more of an HVAC system than you need – we have price points and options to meet many budgets. We can also provide a second opinion if you are replacing a system and need another quote. We also offer specials that can save our customers some cash. Energy efficiency rebates and tax incentives that cities, states, and federal government offer can also help save money and we are happy to help you apply for those.

Environmentally Friendly

The technology is getting so good that we can dramatically reduce your HVAC system’s energy consumption during the year in new and existing systems in homes and businesses. Many of the systems we sell are rated by ENERGY STAR. When you have a system or equipment replaced, we don’t haul it to the dump – we break it down and get it ready to recycle. As required by statute, we have passed an exam to earn Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification to service HVAC equipment containing refrigerants. We recycle coolant when possible, ensuring that minor leaks don’t leave you too warm in the summer. And we can advise you about optional equipment for your system if you need more purification to address allergies, asthma, viruses, and pollution.

Satisfaction Guarantee

We strive to treat our customers as we would want to be treated, which is why we aren’t finished with a job until our customer is happy and their HVAC system is working. We guarantee our work for a full year. Our warranties are up to three years for the labor on our custom installs. And on top of that, as a Ruud Pro Partner™, Ruud® also stands behind our work and the HVAC equipment we install in your home or business and will remove it at our cost if it is not to your satisfaction.
