How We Are Responding to Coronavirus
The threat of coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed the way we operate for everyone’s peace of mind and safety. As the CDC and our local health authorities roll out information to help reduce the spread of this disease, we are updating you about what you can do if you have an air conditioning or heating problem during this time. We will keep this page updated if there are additional changes that affect operations. Currently, we are running service calls during our regular business hours. (Last updated 3/15/20)
Requests for Service
As we do in the summer, we are triaging our requests for service. And we will be asking if anyone in your household is currently ill. And if so, we will suggest rescheduling if possible. Because we visit so many different households, we are doing this to be responsible service providers especially for the majority of our golden year customers. This reduces the risk of illness to all of our customers, workers, their families and everyone they might come in contact with.
To further guard against illness, we will be carrying bleach wipes and hand sanitizer on our trucks as a standard practice that we will be using during our work. And per CDC guidelines and our standard operating procedures, we will continue to wash our hands as often as possible.
Indoor Air Purification Solutions
For those interested in air purification solutions to help with allergies, mold, viruses, pollen and more, we will offer preferred pricing on our REME HALO® Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier, an air scrubber we recommend and has been tested to eliminate a host of viruses, pollen, mold, odors, pet dander, and more. If someone in your household is immunocompromised, has asthma or another respiratory diagnosis, has allergies (especially those seasonal allergies), or sensitivity to mold – this solution can help.
We installed one of these systems in a home that had been flooded from Hurricane Harvey and the vendor who had been helping restore the home was still worried that the home might not be habitable for some time because the mold/mildew levels were still dangerously high. After installing this air purifier, we returned in two weeks and they checked the air again. They were amazed because the air quality was in the green, healthy zone again. They asked us what we did to make that possible? Essentially we scrubbed the air clean. If this could help your family stay healthier, we want to make it available.
In terms of maintenance, every other year, this system requires the replacement of the UV cell and because it’s in-duct, it will require a professional to do that for you. For the month of March 2020 (possibly longer), we will be offering customers preferred pricing, so call us at 281-495-7830 if you’re interested.
