Installations (package unit, splits, or ductless)
When it is time to consider a new installation of an HVAC system for your commercial building, there are many cost-effective and efficient choices available. According to ENERGY STAR, space cooling in a commercial setting may account for up to 15% of electricity used, second only to lighting. We recommend purchasing a “matched system” to get the highest efficiency, best reliability, plus the factory warranty. Because central air or ductless and heating systems are often installed as split systems or all-in-one packaged units, replacing the entire system at once will extend the life of your entire system in the long run.
Terry’s A/C and Heating often recommends the following types of HVAC systems for light commercial applications (15 tons or less in size):
Split Units – Central Air Conditioning paired with a gas furnace consist of both an indoor evaporator coil and fan along with an outdoor condenser unit that moves heat out of the building. This type of HVAC system excels when you need to cool or heat a large area efficiently.
Packaged Units – This type of all-in-one unit combines both air conditioning and heating in one “box.” This configuration is what many retail establishments use, often mounting these units on a building’s rooftop to maximize their building’s indoor space. They are solid, hard-working systems and a staple of businesses all over town.
Ductless Mini-Splits – These systems are beloved by business owners because they are so versatile in how they can be installed and among the most efficient options available. While pricier than a traditional Central Air system, they really shine if you have a smaller space to cool or heat. The most common arrangement feature a blower mounted high on the wall, a great space-saver.
As business owners ourselves, we understand that replacing your HVAC investment is critical to your business’ success. Having a comfortable building not only increases the productivity of your coworkers and employees, it keeps your customers happy as well and more likely to return. That said – we work with business owners to minimize any disruption to their business, working after-hours or on weekends, to make the transition seamless. To extend the longevity of your system, we recommend regular (2X a year) maintenance, and we offer a Peace of Mind Protection Program, a scheduled maintenance and priority service program to help make maintaining your heating and air conditioning system worry-free.
